Halloween Lovelies Jack and Tom

Hello All,
Yes, it is that time again for Halloween!!!! My most favorite time of the year!!! I am excited to share these little gems with you. They are Mae's Closet originals. I am thrilled to announce that there are two this year. . . . . Jack the pumpkin and Tom the Cat. I had a lot of fun creating each one. They are hand made and inspired from an old 1920's German version. The heads are super unique.... hand painted and made from a macadamia nut shell, their bodies from my handmade mold. They are composed of Paper Mache and various embellishments. Each one stands about 4 1/2" tall. They (of course) will be signed, dated and numbered for authenticity. I will only be making a limited number of these and they go fast!! Feel free to e-mail me for questions.

"Tootsie"

Something I have been working on for a couple of weeks. This is "Tootsie". She is about 8 inches tall and holding a hand sculpted bunny and balloon. I have also adorned her with some vintage rhinestones for that "Bling". Her sweet flag reads "Spring"

Here Comes Spring!

Spring is just around the corner. I cannot wait!!!! This is my 2011 spring spool doll. She is full of spring color. I decided to add some extra charm to her by including a fun chunky hand soldered charm. It's amazing what a little "bling" can do :). Her body is wound with a pale pink and cream vintage style twine. And of course she is signed and dated for authenticity.

This is my “Spring Lady”. She is the first in my “2011 Ladies Series”. The inspiration for her came from Easter memories as a child and watching the Classic movie “Easter Parade”. I can remember watching those lovely ladies walking down the street in their beautiful dresses and hats. I wanted to design her with a feeling reminiscent of that Era. Her face has been hand painted with that “typical china doll look”. She has a robin-egg blue color in her eyes and beautiful golden hair.. (did I mention it took me 5 steps to finally achieve that perfect color?? definitely worth it though ). She is wearing a vintage style sage dress that bears those timeless Easter colors.
